It is so very important for kids to know that they are good at something. And every kid is good at something. I am a kid and I meet a lot of kids and I have never met a kid who isn't good at something. But that needs to be communicated to kids. Because I often hear kids in my classrooms talk about how they are not good at anything or that they aren't as smart or that they can't do certain things, and KTU is for those kids. I mean, KTU is for ALL kids, but especially for those kids who don't see themselves as being good at something. And then you ask, so why is that important? It is because happy, confident kids who have a sense of purpose and feel appreciated do not hurt other people or themselves. Every kid has a skill that another kid can learn from and teaching those skills will give those kids a sense of purpose, happiness and confidence.
