The Reno Philharmonic presents Mahler’s Fifth Symphony - Saturday, April; 20th at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:00pm), and Sunday, April 21st at 4:00pm (doors open at 2:30pm), Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, 100 S. Virginia St, Reno, NV  89501

The squared on this event:  The Reno Phil Chorus will join the Reno Phil for their season finale.  This concert will also feature guest vocalist, American soprano, Jacquelyn Stoker.  Tickets can be purchased online at, by phone (775)-323-6393 (M-F, 10am to 3pm), or in person at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center, 925 Riverside Drive, Suite 3, Reno (M-F, 10am to 3pm).  There is a senior discount and patrons age 26 and under are eligible for a youth ticket ($9.00 cash/check or $10.50 by credit card).  Note:  Youth tickets are not available online, you must call the box office.  Don’t forget the pre-concert talk with KNCJ’s Chris Morrison and Conductor Laura Jackson!  These informational talks begin one hour before showtime in the theater.  You may sit anywhere in the theater for the pre-concert talk. 


April is a busy month for musical events at the University of Nevada, Reno!  Here are just a few of the events happening:

Sweeny Todd:  The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.  This Tony-award winning production comes to the Nightingale Stage April 11 – 13.  Nightingale Concert Hall, University of Nevada, Reno.

The squared on this event:  According to the UNR website, “this production includes adult themes and images of violence.  It is not appropriate for all audiences.  A simulated gunshot and fog machine are used in this production.”  Tickets are $20.00, youth/UNR Faculty/Staff/Students are free.  You may purchase tickets in advance at ticket


Reno Jazz Festival:  April 25 – 27 at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The squared on this event:  The 2024 Reno Jazz Festival is celebrating 62 years with an incredible lineup of jazz artists and educators.  There are two nights of jam sessions and a closing student showcase!  Visit for more information.
